The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chike Olemgbe, announced on Tuesday the suspension of four assembly members accused of plotting to remove him from office.
The lawmakers affected by this decision are Samuel Otuibe representing Ahiazu-Mbaise, Henry Agbasonu of Ezinihitte-Mbaise, Chidiebere Ogbunikpa from Okigwe, and Dominic Ezerioha of Oru-West.
According to Speaker Olemgbe, this action was agreed upon during a closed-door executive session.
Additionally, he stated that the suspended members have been stripped of their roles in all standing committees.
