Three employees of Fouani Company, the local representative for LG and Hisense products, have been apprehended by Lagos police for their alleged role in the kidnapping of four Lebanese nationals last month. The incident occurred while the victims were traveling from Apapa to Victoria Island by sea.

According to police sources, the suspects include a driver and two other staff members. Their arrests followed thorough investigations by detectives after the Marine Police and Nigerian Navy successfully rescued the victims at Orogbo Iddo.

The investigation faced challenges initially, as the families of the victims and the Lebanese community were reluctant to involve law enforcement. It is reported that the kidnappers received a ransom close to $1.5 million before releasing the victims, who were then returned to their residence in Banana Island.

Following the rescue, Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Adegoke Fayoade, directed his team to capture the remaining kidnappers. This led to the discovery that the abduction was orchestrated with help from inside the company. The arrested individuals have reportedly provided detailed information about their involvement and other illicit activities.

Sources indicate that the company’s previous reluctance to engage police in such cases may have facilitated ongoing criminal activities involving some of its employees. Further arrests are anticipated, with plans to bring those responsible to justice.
