The Lagos State Police have received the medical examination results for a 17-year-old girl who allegedly suffered rape by an officer at the Area H Command in Ogudu.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the state Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed that the results have been submitted to the police for further investigation.

Hundeyin noted that the results had been delivered and the investigation is ongoing. He did not disclose specific details of the results but promised that updates would follow soon.

The medical test was conducted at the Mirabel Centre. The officer involved, whose identity has not been revealed, is currently in custody.

The victim reportedly accused the officer of assaulting her at the police station after he had offered to help retrieve her phone, which had been stolen by robbers. The officer allegedly invited her to his office under the pretense of assisting her with the phone.

The girl’s mother, Aramide Olupona, stated that her daughter began bleeding the day after the alleged incident and was subsequently examined at the Mirabel Centre. Olupona also accused the police of attempting to cover up the case, claiming that the suspect’s family had tried to persuade her to drop the matter.

Hundeyin responded by emphasizing that the alleged misconduct violates the police code of conduct. He assured the public that there is no intention to obscure the matter and that a comprehensive investigation is underway. Commissioner of Police Adegoke Fayoade has pledged that the officer will face appropriate consequences if found guilty.
