Katsina State Governor Dikko Radda has officially resumed office after a one-month break. Governor Radda had handed over the leadership of the state to his Deputy, Faruk Lawal, on July 18, 2024, before taking his constitutional leave.
Upon resuming his duties, Governor Radda immediately embarked on a five-day official visit to the People’s Republic of China from August 18 to 23, 2024. This visit marks his first official assignment following his return from leave, during which Deputy Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe served as acting governor.
A statement from Radda’s Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohammed, outlined the objectives of the governor’s trip: “As part of his administration’s efforts to foster global partnerships, Governor Dikko Radda is visiting China to explore investment opportunities and strengthen bilateral relations.”
The governor was received at Daxing International Airport in Beijing by William Lui, who will be hosting the delegation during their stay. Accompanying Governor Radda on this trip are his Principal Private Secretary, Abdullahi Turaji; the Commissioner for Agriculture and Livestock Development, Prof. Ahmed Bakori; the Commissioner for Trade, Commerce, and Investment, Adnan Habu; and Lead Consultant, Haroun Gana.
During the visit, the governor and his team are scheduled to meet with Chinese government officials, investors, and manufacturers of heavy-duty equipment and agricultural implements.
