Bodies of British tech mogul, Mike Lynch, his teenage daughter, Hannah two others have been recovered from the wreck of his superyacht.
A fifth body has also been discovered in the wreckage of the yacht, named Bayesian, but has not yet been retrieved, leaving one person still unaccounted for, MailOnline reports.
Search teams made the tragic discoveries on Wednesday while combing through the ruins of the luxury sailboat, which sank off the coast of Sicily after being struck by a rare ‘black swan’ waterspout on Monday morning.
The Chief of Civil Protection confirmed that two of the bodies have been identified as British tech billionaire Mike Lynch and his daughter, Hannah.
He also announced that two additional bodies were found and brought ashore by divers.
The bodies were brought to shore and placed in a tent before being transferred to a waiting ambulance. Two men and one woman were taken to the morgue for formal identification, while the gender of the remaining two bodies has yet to be confirmed.
Among those still missing are Morgan Stanley executive Jonathan Bloomer, his wife Judy, and American citizens Chris and Neda Morvillo, a jewelry designer. The body of a crew member, chef Recaldo Thomas, was found on Monday.
This tragic incident occurred as 59-year-old Lynch, often dubbed ‘Britain’s Bill Gates,’ was celebrating his legal victory in a U.S. fraud trial over the £8.3 billion sale of his tech firm, Autonomy, to Hewlett-Packard.
In a separate incident, Stephen Chamberlain, the former vice president of finance at Autonomy and Lynch’s co-defendant, was struck and killed by a car while jogging in Cambridgeshire on Saturday.
Four other guests have been missing since the yacht sank, with specialist divers continuing to search the wreckage in hopes that survivors might be found in air pockets within the vessel.
