Former head coach of the Super Eagles, Adegboye Onigbinde has disclosed that only the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) can explain why Bruno Labbadia was appointed to manage the senior national team.
Recall that the German tactician was named to take over from Finidi George on Tuesday morning.
Labbadia is a German football manager and former player. He played as a striker for several clubs, including Bayern Munich, Hamburg, and Cologne, and earned two caps for the Germany national team.
As a manager, Labbadia has coached several clubs in Germany and Austria, including:
However Onigbinde stated that the issue with Nigeria football is not technical administrative but an internal problem.
“It is only the people that took the decision can best explain why Labbadia was appointed as Super Eagles head coach.
” Like I always tell you, the problem of Nigerian football is not technical administrative. No matter how good a coach is, if the administration of the game is not in order then there is a problem.
“Haven’t we have array of great talents in the Super Eagles? What has been the result? Mind you, the first time I handle the Super Eagles, I had a pack of young players. So it’s not a matter of having an array of talents.”
