Idara Bassey, the Lagos medical doctor, who was declared wanted in connection with the death of a 36-year-old woman, Abiola during a buttock enlargement surgery at a clinic in Lekki Phase 1, is now in police custody.
The state Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed her arrest.
Abiola had visited the clinic for the buttock enlargement procedure, which tragically ended in her death.
BBL is a popular enhancement surgery that sculpts the buttocks while removing excess fat from other body areas.
Bassey who is currently being investigated at the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, had previously fled after Abiola died during a buttock enlargement procedure at her clinic on August 26, 2024.
