There is uncertainty in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) as the party has postponed its national caucus and National Executive Council (NEC) meetings indefinitely.
The meetings, it has been gathered, we’re scheduled to hold from September 11 to 12, 2024 respectively.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka.
The statement read, “Members of the National Caucus and National Executive Committee of the All Progressives Congress are hereby informed that the National Caucus and National Executive Committee meetings scheduled to be held on September 11 and 12, 2024, respectively, have been postponed.
“New dates for the meetings will be communicated in due course.”
Although no reason was given for the postponement, it has been scooped that President Bola Tinubu’s absence in the country was partly responsible for the development.
A source at the secretariat said the decision was taken following uncertainty that Tinubu would be in attendance.
“We understand that the President may not be around in the country on the said dates due to international engagement abroad,” the source said.
