Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President, Godswill Akpabio and the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, will, on Tuesday, lead the party’s campaign flag-off for the October 5 local government election in Akwa Ibom State.
This was disclosed by Obong Stephen Ntukekpo, the state chairman of the party, on Sunday, where he also noted that other dignitaries including Cross River state governor, Bassey Otu, will join Senate President, Godswill Akpabio as chief host to stage the event at the Ikot Ekpene Township Stadium.
Ntukekpo equally listed Ekperikpe Ekpo, Minister of State, Petroleum Resources (Gas), Sen Ita Enang, Chairman of the APC LG Election Campaigns among other chieftains, stakeholders and members expected at the occasion from across the state.
“The success story of APC-led administration (federal) is clear indication that the party is a transformational movement. Akwa Ibom must not and should never ever be left out of this transformational movement” the Ntukekpo said.
He enjoined all chairmanship and councillorship candidates of the party, State, LG and Ward Executives, supporters as well as the general public to join the campaigns.
For Sen Enang, “The APC campaign flag off will mark a significant milestone in the history of opposition politics in the state with specific reference to Local Government elections.
“It is a bold statement to other contending parties that APC is prepared and ready for the contest. We intend by this exercise to announce the presence of our great party and to reach out to millions of our supporters and the Akwa Ibom electorate with the message of change.”
