Arise TV anchor, Rufai Oseni on Monday blasted Jesutega Onokpasa, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) who criticised President Bola Tinubu for appointing a critic, Barrister Daniel Bwala as his Special Adviser on Public Communication and Media, describing the appointment as bizarre and macabre.
An obviously angry Onokpasa, in a video on WhatsApp, took exception to how Tinubu discarded those who stuck out their necks and took the bullet for him when the opposition, including Bwala, was running rings round him in a bid to de-market and render him unelectable at the poll.
He said that the president disgraced him and others, stabbed them in the back by appointing a man who called him a drug baron during the campaign.
Reacting to Onokpasa’s outbursts, Oseni who asked why Onokpasa was pained added that President Tinubu appointed Bwala because he believed he has more value to add to his government than the likes of Onokpasa.
“Why is it paining him? Because they didn’t pick him? Bwala has long legs (connection) than him. Politics is a game of interest. I am not directly saying everything Bwala has done or said is right but in President Tinubu’s eyes, Bwala is more valuable than the likes of Onokpasa. That is what President Tinubu has just enunciated. They said Bwala abused him one way or the other. That is not the context. He has picked Bwala over you people. So, let it pain you very well” Oseni said.
