The All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that President Bola Tinubu will chair the party’s National Caucus meeting today at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The National Secretary of the APC, Senator Ajibola Basiru, assured that the meeting will proceed as planned, dismissing concerns about a possible postponement.
“No, nobody is postponing anything. The National Caucus and the NEC meetings will still be held Tuesday and Wednesday as scheduled,” Basiru stated.
Last year, the National Caucus and National Executive Committee (NEC) meetings were initially scheduled for September 11 and 12 in Abuja but were later called off without explanation. Although party officials promised to announce a new date, five months passed without any rescheduling, raising concerns among members.
According to a leaked memo signed by Basiru, the National Caucus meeting will take place at the Presidential Villa banquet hall on February 25, while the NEC meeting will be held at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja the following day.
The memo stated, “The National Caucus of the party is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, 25 February 2025, at the Banquet of the Presidential Villa by 6 pm. The National Executive Committee is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, 26 February 2025, at the National Secretariat of the Party.”
President Tinubu will chair both sessions, which will also be attended by Vice President Kashim Shettima, former President Muhammadu Buhari, APC National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, Senate President Dr. Godswill Akpabio, and other key stakeholders, including past and present APC governors, state party chairmen, and members of the National Working Committee.
The upcoming meetings mark the first NEC and Caucus sessions to be chaired by Ganduje since he became APC’s national chairman.
