Operatives of the Lagos State Police Command from the Morogbo Division in Badagry have apprehended a man for stabbing his wife to death over an allegation of infidelity.

The suspect identified as Peter Dike and his wife, a 38-year-old woman were said to have engaged in a scuffle due to alleged infidelity from the woman.

The suspect narrated to the police what led him to grab a kitchen knife to stab his wife in the stomach which resulted in her death on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

Spokesman of the Lagos Police Command, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the incident to newsmen, adding that the suspect is already in police custody.

He noted that the incident took place on March 19, 2025 at about 11.25 hours.

“A team of detectives while on patrol of the town around Oke-Ira Ilogbo Remi, got a hint of the incident and raced down to the scene where they beheld Mr Dike holding the lifeless body of his wife soaked in her own blood crying and calling for help,” he said.

Hundeyin said that police officers inspected the body and discovered that the deceased had died while they promptly arrested Dike and took him into custody.

The corpse was deposited at the Badagry General Hospital mortuary for autopsy.

Hundeyin added that Dike confessed to the crime during interrogation, disclosing that the case will be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti for further investigation.
