BUA Group has condemned the tragic attack that occurred near its Okpella facility in Edo State, resulting in the deaths of eight Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) operatives and a civilian driver.

The company expressed deep sadness over the incident and extended heartfelt condolences to the families of the fallen, the NSCDC, and the government of Nigeria, wishing the injured officers a swift recovery.

BUA Group in a statement, said that, “we note with grave concern the abduction of a foreign expatriate, even as four others were rescued unharmed. We are working closely with security agencies to ensure the safe return of the abducted and to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.”

It added that “the safety of our people, partners, and host communities remains paramount. This tragedy is a painful reminder of the sacrifices borne daily by our security personnel. Their courage will never be forgotten.”

BUA Group is one of Africa’s leading manufacturing, mining, food, and infrastructure conglomerates. Established in 1988 by industrialist Abdul Rabiu, BUA has significant investments in mining and infrastructure, including Cement Manufacturing, Construction, Real Estate, Plaster Production, and Quarrying & Mining.
