The Special Adviser to the President on Economic Affairs, Tope Fasua, has stated that President Bola Tinubu cannot be removed from office in 2027.

Fasua, who is attached to the Office of the Vice President, said the president has no credible challenger ahead of the next presidential election.

The presidential aide stated this in an interview with Channels Television’s Seun Okinbaloye.

“I don’t see who will remove Tinubu in 2027. I don’t even see where you’re going to start. It is going to end up in frustration.

“They don’t even have a platform anymore. Which platform are they using?” Fasua said.

Tinubu emerged as president in 2023 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

He secured 8,794,726 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who scored 6,984,520 to emerge second.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party (LP) was third with 6,101,533 votes, and New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP)’s Rab’iu Musa Kwankwaso got 1,496,687 votes to finish in fourth place.

Tinubu has not indicated interest in seeking re-election in 2027.
