The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, on Friday, ruled in favour of a suit seeking to compel the Federal Government to investigate the alleged link between the Minister of State for Defence, Alhaji Bello Matawalle, and the operation of bandits in Zamfara State. Former governor of Taraba State, Arc. Darius Dickson Ishaku, has been in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in the past 72 hours over his alleged diversion of more than a whopping N72 billion local government funds. Ishaku will face trial with a one-time Permanent Secretary of the Bureau for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs in the state, Bello Yero. Bristol Issac Tamunobifiri, popularly known by his X name PIDOM Nigeria, has been granted bail. PIDOM was arraigned on Friday, September 27, on a nine-count charge filed against him by the Inspector General of Police at the Federal High Court in Abuja. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State has expressed his heartfelt condolence with his Akwa Ibom State counterpart, Umo Eno, over the passing of his wife, Patience Eno.
