The Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms has recommended an exchange rate of N800 per dollar Customs import duty rate for the rest of the year. This move will be a huge departure from what obtains currently where Customs duty is changed erratically, sometime twice a day with total changes effected so far this year at about 40 times. Rivers state governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has charged the newly sworn in judge of the state High Court, Justice Stephens Dirialakeibama Jumbo to stand on the side of truth and defend the interest of the state. A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has declared the seats of the 25 lawmakers, who defected from the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, to the All Progressives Congress, APC, vacant pending the determination of a suit before it. A four-story building collapsed on Lagos Island on Thursday, trapping an unknown number of people. The incident occurred at Iga Iduganran, near the Oba of Lagos’ palace. The Lagos State Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotosho, has confirmed the development on his X account.
