A Kano State High Court on Tuesday, adjourned until July 4, hearing an application in the ongoing Kano Emirship Tussle case. Former Chief of Defence Staff, Admiral Ibrahim Ogohi is dead. He was born on 14 November 1948. He passed away in Abuja in the early hours of Sunday, June 30, as stated in a statement by the Director of Defence Information, Brig-Gen. Tukur Gusau. Ogohi was Nigeria’s Chief of Defence Staff from 1999 to 2003.
No fewer than six people have been killed with 15 others injured in a suicide attack in Gwoza, Borno. Tragedy struck when the suicide bomber detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) in Gwoza town. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the attack occurred at a busy motor park known as Marrarraban Gwoza. The Court Arbitration of Sports (CAS) dismissed the appeals filed by World Athletics (WA) and by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) against the decision to clear her of a doping offence. In July 2023, Amusan was charged by WA for committing an Anti-Doping Rule Violation (ADRV) under Rule 2.4 WA ADR following three alleged whereabouts failures within a 12-month period.
