Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Atiku Abubakar has visited former President Muhammadu Buhari at his Daura residence. Atiku was with the former President in a viral video seen by The Nation correspondent. The former Vice President also paid a similar visit to former Heads of State; Gen. Ibrahim Babaginda and Gen. Abdulsalam at their residences in Niger State on Wednesday, June 19.
The Lagos state suspected cholera cases have risen to 421. The Commissioner for Health, Akin Abayomi disclosed this on his Instagram handle @profakinabayomi on Saturday. “As of June 20, 2024, an additional four suspected cholera cases have been reported, as illustrated in the accompanying graph,” he wrote. The Federal Government has announced plans to bolster its anti-banditry operations with the acquisition of 50 new aircraft scheduled to arrive between now and next year. The initiative aims to strengthen security efforts in the North-West region and across Nigeria as terrorists occupied the Kainji National Park in Niger State. Following the outbreak of cholera in some parts of the country, at least 21 persons have been confirmed dead in Lagos State, with 401 suspected cases reported to the state Ministry of Health, with an increasing number of severe gastroenteritis cases across multiple local government areas, LGAs, in the state. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Edo State chapter, has gone for broke by announcing the expulsion of former deputy governor, Philip Shaibu, and the party’s vice national chair, South-south, Chief Dan Osi Orbih from the party.
