The Red Chamber approved the Senate Committee on Judiciary, Human Rights, and Legal Matters, chaired by Senator Mohammed Tahir Monguno (APC- Borno North), and presented a report to the lawmakers. The Abia State Police Command on Tuesday, said the case involving a suspected organ dealer, Andrew Amaechi, is no longer with them in Umuahia. According to the police authorities, the suspect was arrested in the Aba area of the state on May 8. Operatives of the Enugu Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC have arrested 100 (One Hundred) suspected internet fraudsters at different locations in Enugu State. The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has appointed an Assistant Inspector General of Police, AIG Yetunde Longe as its first female secretary. A statement issued by the force’s Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi in Abuja, said she was appointed by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, in furtherance of the vision to ensure gender inclusivity and equality in all aspects of appointments and operations within the force.
There is commotion at the Heritage Bank office in Calabar where angry customers have threatened to break down the facility if their deposits are tempered with. Hundreds of customers as early as 7am on Wednesday crowded the bank’s Calabar head office entrance opposite the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Calabar office, demanding access to retrieve their money from Heritage Bank but denied entrance. President Bola Tinubu has directed the Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, to present the cost implications for a new minimum wage within two days. Strike: Flight Operations Resume At Lagos Airport, Others
Aviation unions have opened barricaded airport terminals, following the suspension of an indefinite strike by the Nigerian Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress. The General Secretary, Air Traffic Services Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, Mr Francis Akinjole, said that the strike was ‘relaxed’ for a week to enable the unions to continue talks with the Federal Government on a new minimum wage.
