President Bola Tinubu yesterday inaugurated an All-One Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) Reverse-Engineering, Training, Filling, and Conversion Centre in Abuja. The centre was established by the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) in collaboration with Portland Gas Limited. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and the Trade Union Congress (TUC) yesterday declared an indefinite strike effective Monday, June 2 after the latest negotiation with the federal government on the new minimum wage and the recent hike of electricity tariff ended in a deadlock. Organised labour rejected the N60,000 which government and the private sector said was the best they could offer under the circumstance. Friday’s talks on minimum wage between the Federal Government and Organised Labour hit a brick wall when the government failed to shift grounds on the N60,000 it proposed during the last meeting. NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg has dismissed warnings by Russian President Vladimir Putin that allowing Kyiv to use Western weapons for strikes inside Russian territory might lead to an escalation. Justice Peter Lifu, of an Abuja Federal High Court, on Friday, granted Chioma Okoli, bail in the sum of N5m and two sureties in like sum. The judge held that one of the sureties must be the defendant’s spouse or a blood relative with a variable source of income who resides within the jurisdiction of the court.
