The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), on Tuesday, revealed how it used its ‘Operation Hot Wheels’ to recover and returned 21 luxury vehicles worth over N1.8 billion to Canada after they were stolen and smuggled into Nigeria by a criminal syndicate. Trade Union Congress (TUC) has called on state governments yet to implement the new minimum wage and its consequential adjustments to do so to avoid industrial action in the states. Mr Festus Osifo, President of the TUC, made the call while addressing newsmen at the end of its National Executive Council meeting on Tuesday in Abuja. Bianca Ojukwu, has said releasing the leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu, would facilitate return of peace to the South East. The Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has again raised the Monetary Policy Rate (MPR) by 25 basis points to 27.50 percent from the previous rate of 27.25 percent. Mr Yemi Cardoso Central Bank of Nigeria Governor who announced this at a press conference on Tuesday said the MPC retained the Cash Reserves Ratio (CRR) for Deposit Money Banks (DMB), and 16 percent for Merchant Banks. Former Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State, on Tuesday, returned to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to honour another invitation over alleged misappropriation of funds.
