Nigeria’s headline inflation has dropped to 24.48 per cent year on year in January 2025.  This is a sharp decline from the 34.80 per cent headline inflation recorded in December 2024. Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Kayode Egbetokun has approved the deployment of Jimoh Moshood as the new Commissioner of Police in charge of Lagos State. The Nigerian military has received a total of N33,216,000,000.00 for the procurement of critical operational equipment. The funds were disbursed by the Ministry of Defence in July 2024, with records on GovSpend showing multiple tranches of payments made through the Naira Transit Account. The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, has revealed that over 11,553 underage candidates have registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. The family of popular Nigerian singer, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2face, has petitioned the Department of State Services over his whereabouts, declaring him missing.
