The Ondo State Police Command said its operatives have arrested two notorious kidnapers identified as Abubakar Umar and Mohammed Shehu who were allegedly responsible for abduction and killing of one Alaba Abe, a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC). The suspension placed on Muhuyi Magaji Rimingado, the chairman of the Kano State Public Complaints and Anti-Corruption Commission (PCACC), by the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) has been quashed by an Abuja Appeal Court. A three-member panel of justices, in the lead judgment read by Justice Umaru Fadawu on Friday, also ordered that the matter be re-assigned to another panel of the Code of Conduct Tribunal. The FCT Directorate of National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has confiscated alcoholic beverages in sachet and PET bottles in Wuse Market, Abuja. NAFDAC’s Director of FCT directorate, Mr Kenneth Azikiwe, said after the operation on Thursday that several sachets of alcohol and in small bottles, including 30ml and 100ml packs, were discovered and confiscated. The Federal Government, on Thursday, launched a N20 billion consumer credit fund to stimulate demand for locally-assembled automobiles. The scheme which is led by the Nigerian Credit Corporation (Credicorp) hopes to limit interest rates for consumers to single digit. Speaking at the official launch/agreement signing between Credicorp and the National Automotive Design and Development Council, NADDC, in Abuja, the Managing Director/CEO of Credicorp, Engr. Vice Chancellor of the University of Buckingham, London, Prof. James Tooley, has been suspended, after allegations of an affair with a young woman from Hyderabad, India.
