Secretary to the Ondo State Government, Hon Tayo Oluwatuyi, is dead, it has been gathered. Oluwatuyi reportedly died in the early hours of Saturday at an undisclosed hospital. He had been hospitalized following complications he suffered in a fatal road accident while on his way to Ibadan, the Oyo State capital. Gunmen suspected to be members of the Lakurawa terrorist group have killed two policemen and rustled over 200 cows from Natsini village in Argungu Local Government Area of Kebbi State. It was learnt that the incident happened on Thursday at about 11 pm. The Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and other affiliate bodies have vowed to come down hard on states yet to implement the new minimum wage, saying such action would take place at the end of January. The Naira on Friday depreciated to N1,660 per dollar in the parallel market from N1,655 per dollar.. But the Naira appreciated to N1,535 per dollar in the official foreign exchange market. Data published by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) showed that the exchange rate for Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM) fell to N1535 per dollar from N1,538.5 per dollar on Thursday, maintaining the decline on Friday, indicating N3.5 appreciation for the naira. Consequently, the margin between the parallel market and NFEM rate widened to N125 per dollar from N116.5 per dollar.
