Four traders have reportedly lost their lives due to severe rainstorms accompanied by strong winds at the IBB Square in Bauchi state, which hosted the recently concluded North East Trade Fair. Two other injured victims were said to have  later died  at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University Teaching Hospital (ATBUTH). The Kogi State Government has announced the rescue of the remaining eight kidnapped students of Confluence University of Science and Technology, Osara (CUSTECH) Bringing the numbers of rescued students to 30. Recall 32 students were abducted inside the school premises early last month while preparing for the commencement of their exams. The Federal Government said the N494,000 new minimum wage proposed by the organized labour could cripple Nigeria’s economy. The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris disclosed this during a press briefing in Abuja. The minister lamented that the N494,000 minimum wage demand would amount to a N9.5 trillion expenditure burden to the government. According to him, they had agreed to increase the country’s minimum wage by 100 percent to N60,000 from N30,000 in line with the current economic realities. The Lagos State Government has discontinued the 25 percent discount on state-owned transport services, ending 10 months programme designed to mitigate impact of the fuel subsidy removal by President Bola Tinubu.
