The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) in Ondo State has received ‘sensitive’ materials Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state. The balloting materials were conveyed by the Nigeria Airforce to Akure, the state capital, yesterday. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has conducted a major raid on wine shops in Mararaba Market and the New Nyanya and Masaka areas of Nasarawa State. According to a post via its verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Monday, the operation targeted counterfeit and adulterated wines and spirits, resulting in the seizure of products valued at over ₦41.2 million. NAFDAC’s Investigation & Enforcement team was actively investigating the importers or manufacturers behind the counterfeit drinks. Kayode Egbetokun, the Inspector General of Police (IGP), has banned the Western Nigeria Security Network, codenamed Amotekun and vigilante group, among others, from participating in the Ondo State governorship election. No fewer than 17 political parties will participate in the election slated for November 16, 2024. The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has continued with flood intervention in Rivers State by distributing relief items to those affected by the disaster in the Ruhali Community of Ogbogoro Kingdom, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area.
