A bill seeking for the establishment of Bola Ahmed Tinubu Federal University of Nigerian Languages has passed the first reading at the House of Representatives. The bill, sponsored by the Deputy Speaker, Benjamin Kalu, and eight others, is aimed at establishing a university for the promotion of the learning of Nigerian languages. In its bid to fight corruption effectively, the government of Namibia has sought the corporation and help from the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in its fight against corruption in the country.   According to a statement cited on the commission’s website on Saturday, the partnership is aimed at “exploring training opportunities as well as sharing of expertise with personnel of the Namibian Anti-corruption Commission in the fight against corruption.” The statement noted that the Namibian government made the call on Friday when its Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Humphrey…

The Ogun State Police Command has explained how one 41 years old Mr Ibrahim Aliu Papa Olosun of Oja Odan in the Yewa North Local Government Area of the state sexually assaulted his 12 years old daughter (name withheld). Aliu was arrested on Thursday after his estranged wife, Temitope Egbebi, lodged a complaint against him at the Oja Odan Divisional Police Office.
