Former Governor Nasir El-Rufai has refuted claims that he has left the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to join the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). The Ondo State Government has declared a three-day mourning and prayers in honour of the Secretary to Government (SSG), Mr Tayo Oluwatuyi. Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, who led members of the State Executive Council on a condolence visit to the wife of the late Oluwatuyi and members of his family, in Akure, declared this while also promising to support the family. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has refuted reports that it plans to destroy uncollected permanent voter cards (PVCs). Speaking in a statement on Sunday, INEC called the reports making the rounds false and urged members of the public to disregard them. “Our attention has been drawn to a newspaper report that the Commission is contemplating the destruction of over six million uncollected Permanent Voters’ Cards (PVCs) going back to the 2015 voter registration. “The report is incorrect. Police operatives are hunting for gunmen who killed the Katsina Chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeder Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Surajo Leader and two others in Kusada Local Government Area of the state last Saturday night. The gunmen who invaded Mai Rana community in Kusada LGA also abducted two of the deceased wives and his daughter who is an undergraduate student.
