Russia’s President Vladimir Putin has apologised to the president of neighbouring Azerbaijan for the downing of a commercial airliner in Russian airspace, in which 38 people were killed, but stopped short of saying Russia was responsible. A Brightline train collided with a fire truck on Saturday morning in Delray Beach, Florida, injuring three firefighters and 12 train passengers, according to city officials. The three injured firefighters from Delray Beach were transported to a local hospital, where they are currently in stable condition. Although two of the firefighters were initially listed in critical condition, their status has since improved. In addition to the firefighters, 12 passengers from the train were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, assisted by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue. A devastating plane crash in South Korea has resulted in at least 120 confirmed deaths, with dozens more reported missing. The incident occurred on Sunday morning when Jeju Air Flight 2216, a Boeing 737-800, crashed while attempting to land at Muan International Airport. Personnel of the Department of State Service (DSS) neutralised at least three notorious bandits in Dogon Dawa, Mairiga Local Government Area of Niger State on Friday in a coordinated efforts aimed at taking the fight to the criminals. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) announced on Saturday that it was running maintenance exercises which will affect power supply in some parts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
