Nigerian economic experts have expressed mixed reactions following the Federal Government’s decision to raise the 2025 Appropriation Bill from N49.7tn to N54.2tn, driven by additional revenue from key government agencies. Monday Onyekachi Ubani (SAN), has been appointed as the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association’s Electoral Reform Committee. Ubani was also appointed as a Co-opted Member of the NBA’s National Executive Council (NEC). A driver who killed one pedestrian and seriously injured another while attempting to flee from the police has been jailed. Ryan Skelton, 23, from Bagworth, was driving a blue Volkswagen Jetta on 12th September 2024 when a member of the public alerted police to his erratic driving. Officers approached Skelton on Oronsay Road in Beaumont Leys, but he tried to escape, colliding with a metal fence. The registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) will now commence on Monday, Feb. 3, instead of Friday, Jan. 31 as earlier slated.
