Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq of Kwara State has directed the payment of the new minimum wage starting from October 2024. According to a statement by the state government, the governor approved the payment of the N70,000 new minimum wage as announced by the Federal Government over the weekend. The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), has said that the National Grid collapse on Saturday morning that threw Nigerians across the country into another blackout, was caused by an explosion of a current transformer at the Jebba transmission station.
