The Federal Government has announced a new fiscal regime with a wide range of tax exemptions in oil and gas industry. The Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, said the fiscal incentives were aimed at revitalizing Nigeria’s oil and gas sector. Israel said on Wednesday eight of its soldiers were killed in combat in south Lebanon as its forces thrust into its northern neighbour in a campaign against the Hezbollah armed group. The Government of Germany on Wednesday, October 2, announced an additional release of €24 million to Nigeria and other countries in the Sahel and Lake Chad regions affected by the recent flooding.
