At least five people have been killed in a suspected terrorist attack on Lighitlubang village, in the Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State. The attack occurred late on the night of January 31, 2025, when the assailants stormed the village while the residents slept. Almost two months after it announced the landmark arrest of 193 foreigners and 599 Nigerians, in one fell swoop for offences bordering on Cryptocurrency Investment Fraud and Romance Scam, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has begun the prosecution of some of those arrested.
