A judge on Tuesday postponed former United States’ president, Donald Trump’s sentencing in his New York hush money case to September for ruling. This was as the former president seeks to have his conviction overturned following a Supreme Court ruling that granted him some immunity in a separate criminal case. President Bola Tinubu has approved the appointment of a chairman and nine members of the board of the Family Homes Funds Limited. The House of Representatives on Tuesday, July 2, mandated its Committee on Basic Examination Bodies to investigate the annual Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) collected by the West African Examination Council (WAEC) from 2018-2024. The committee examines the financial books/records and financial statements of the Council during the period to ascertain compliance with existing laws governing the administration of public funds and reports within four weeks for further legislative action. The Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Chike Olemgbe, announced on Tuesday the suspension of four assembly members accused of plotting to remove him from office. The lawmakers affected by this decision are Samuel Otuibe representing Ahiazu-Mbaise, Henry Agbasonu of Ezinihitte-Mbaise, Chidiebere Ogbunikpa from Okigwe, and Dominic Ezerioha of Oru-West. Three people have been rescued from a collapsed building at Unity House, Area 11 in Abuja. The Federal Capital Development (FCT), Police Command confirmed that the building collapsed on Monday July 1, 2024 around 8:40 pm at Unity House, Area 11 by Nkwere Street. The three victims were evacuated and rushed to an undisclosed hospital for treatment.
