A fire outbreak has been reported in a section of the Dangote Petroleum Refinery located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos State, Nigeria. A video clip which went viral on social media on Wednesday shows fire with thick smoke emanating from the refinery billowing the atmosphere. Fortunately, the fire has been successfully contained. Anthony Chiejina, the Dangote Group’s Chief Branding and Communication Officer, stated, “We have swiftly contained a minor fire incident at our effluent treatment plant (ETP) today, Wednesday, June 26th. Former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, has sued the Kaduna State House of Assembly over the latter’s claim that his eight-year administration allegedly siphoned ₦432bn leaving the state with huge debt liabilities. El-Rufai filed a fundamenatal rights suit at Federal High Court in Kaduna against state House of Assembly on Wednesday. Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has reiterated his administration’s resolve to complete the 70 million-gallon-per-day Adiyan Water Project which was abandoned for years. The federal government has announced a ban on single-use plastics across all Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
