Access ARM Pensions has posted full-year results for 2024, reporting revenue of N28.2 billion, topping the N12.3 billion in 2023. Pre-tax profit rose by 164 per cent to N15.2 billion, while post-tax profit surged by 187 per cent to N10.9 billion. Assets Under Management (AUM) also climbed to N3.5 trillion. The Katsina State Government on Saturday called for the cancellation of the English language examination recently conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC). The call followed an incident which led to the commencement of the examination several hours behind the scheduled time nationwide on Wednesday. No fewer than 20 members of the Kano State contingent in the just concluded 22nd National Sports Festival in Abeokuta. Ogun State have lost their lives in a fatal weekend crash. Witnesses said the accident happened in Kura Local Government Area, about 30 minutes drive into the metropols. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled the governorship elections in Ekiti and Osun states for Saturday, July 20, and Saturday, August 8, 2026, respectively. INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, announced the dates on Friday during the swearing-in ceremony of six newly appointed Resident Electoral Commissioners (RECs), whose nominations were recently approved by the National Assembly. Yakubu also revealed that the Commission is finalising preparations for bye-elections to fill vacant seats in both the National and State Houses of Assembly.
The National Assembly said it plans to deliver a new constitution by December as the Constitution Review Committee of the House of Representatives scheduled its zonal public hearings to begin on July 11. The hearings will deliberate on the 87 prioritised Bills between July 11 and 20 to gather public views on the amendment process. The committee also stated that it would engage with registered political parties on Monday, July 14, in Abuja and hold a National Public Hearing on Monday, July 21.
