A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr Olisa Agbakoba, has faulted the the agitation for the creation of additional states in the South-East, insisting it would not solve the problem of the region. Residents of the Sabo area in Osogbo, the capital of Osun state, were gripped with fear on Sunday, July 14, when an abandoned building, allegedly used by hoodlums, collapsed. Five people were reportedly trapped inside when the building collapsed around 7:30 am. The uncompleted, abandoned storey building had been used by hoodlums as an abode before its collapse. Mr Takai Shamang, former leader of the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC), who was abducted by kidnappers on July 5, has been freed. The abductors had invaded his Biniki village in Kaura Local Government of Kaduna State and took away the 78-year-old former unionist.
