The House of Representatives has resolved to investigate promotion stagnation in the Federal Civil Service from 2013 to 2023. The resolution was a sequel to a motion moved by Rep. Salman Idris, the Deputy Chairman, House Committee on Agric Colleges and Institutions in Abuja. He said that promotion remained the progression of civil servants as well as a motivational incentive for productivity. The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee, has shortlisted a total of 98 lawyers to be considered for the conferment of the prestigious rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria. Among the names are the All Progressive Congress, National Legal Adviser, Prof Abdulkarim Kana (Life Bencher), former Nigeria Bar Association, national officials, Monday Ubani, Kunle Edun and Dr Rapulu Nduka. Senate President Godswill Obot Akpabio, along with Deputy Senate President Jibrin Barau and other distinguished Senators, visited the Abuja residence of former Senate President Bukola Saraki to offer their condolences on the recent passing of his mother.
