Tems, whose real name is Temilade Openiyi, revealed in a post on X that she was cancelling a concert at BK Arena in the Rwandan capital on March 22. “So I recently promoted my show in Rwanda without realising…

Many annual Grammy week functions were scrapped, including prominent parties organized by top labels and companies like Spotify. But Harvey Mason Jr, the head of the Recording Academy behind the Grammys, said the gala would go on…

The Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi, on Thursday defended the continuous stay of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, in office, saying it is legal and lawful. Fagbemi, who is also the Minister of justice, disclosed this in a statement he personally signed. He said Egbetokun’s appointment which took effect from October 31, 2023 would have come to an end on his attainment of 60 years of age on September 4, 2024. “However, before his retirement age, the Police Act was amended to allow the occupant of the office to remain and complete the original four year…
The Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Olayemi Cardoso, has said inflation would have risen to 42.81 per cent by December 2024 if not for the bank’s policy interventions. Cardoso who spoke at the 2025 Monetary Policy Forum, also projected that diaspora remittances would rise to N31.79tn when fourth-quarter figures for 2024 are released. The apex bank’s boss further pledged to stick to orthodox monetary policies to tame inflation in 2025. He stated that counterfactual estimates suggest that without decisive policy interventions, inflation could have…
Special Adviser to the President on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, has accused former Kaduna Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, of pursuing a “vengeance mission” rather than acting out of patriotism in his recent criticisms of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration. Bwala made the assertion in a response to El-Rufai’s earlier post on his verified X handle, @BwalaDaniel, on Thursday. Bwala, while expressing admiration for El-Rufai, questioned the motive behind the former Governor’s statements and actions. “With respect, I am not a latter-day Asiwaju supporter. We both played our roles in his emergence as the candidate of the party ahead of the…
Ethan Nwaneri produced a moment of brilliance to secure Arsenal’s place in the top eight and ensure Mikel Arteta can take his team on a warm-weather camp next month. Having embarked on a relentless run of form after a break in the UAE last January, Arteta will be hoping another spell in the sun can similarly rejuvenate his team. And with 10 days off from February 5, the exhausted Gunners shall be glad of some respite. This was harder work than expected as former Bournemouth player Arnaut Danjuma put Girona ahead before Jorginho levelled from the spot. Then Nwaneri, 17,…

However, the second half was a different story. The introduction of Savinho injected energy into City’s attack, leading to Mateo Kovačić’s equalizer. A stroke of fortune followed as Joel Ordóñez turned the ball into his own net, putting City in front. Savinho…
