Oyo State governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has mourned the death of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain and Seriki Musulumi of Yorubaland, Alhaji Yekini Adeojo. The governor, who described Alhaji Adeojo as one of the last men standing, said his death marked the end of a glorious political era. There is panic in Idi-Araba, Lagos as an explosion on Thursday has reportedly claimed one life. Preliminary reports indicate that the incident occurred at a scrap metal yard, where traders were handling a suspicious metallic object resembling an explosive device. The Supreme Court has set aside the judgment of the Court of Appeal in Abuja recognising Julius Abure as the National Chairman of the Labour Party (LP). In a unanimous judgment on Friday, a five-member panel of the apex court held that the Court of Appeal lacked the jurisdiction to have pronounced Abure National Chairman of the LP having earlier found that the substance of the case was about the party’s leadership.
