The Nigerian Communications Commission has issued a directive mandating all telecommunications operators in the country to limit the number of available tariff plans to a maximum of seven. The NCC has approved new tariff guidelines for operators designed to enhance transparency, improve consumer understanding, and foster fair competition among the licensees of the Commission. Small-scale business owners in Katsina State have decried low patronage as a result of the nationwide protests. The protests reportedly led to not only the vandalisation of government and private structures and property worth millions of naira but also caused various degrees of injuries on the part of the police officers and the protesting youths as a result of a clash. Afrobeats singer Oxlade has extended a helping hand to a woman who captured the nation’s attention during the #EndBadGovernance protests. The woman carried an empty pot to symbolise her struggle with hunger. Oxlade took to X to share a photo of the woman and offer N500,000 in financial assistance. Special Presidential Envoy on Climate Action (SPEC), Ajuri Ngelale, has announced an agreement with his Danish counterpart, Tomas Anker Christensen, on a framework for monitoring climate action programs in real-time. Police authorities have fired tear gas at protesters at the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abuja in a bid to disperse the demonstrators who had converged to press on with their demands. The protesters, lesser than the number witnessed the previous days, had converged at the facility. But after some hours, police officers fired tear gas canisters to disperse the protesters. Gov. Babagana Zulum of Borno has alleged that 95 per cent of the youths that participated in Thursday’s violent protests in Maiduguri were children under 14 years. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Zulum made this known in a broadcast to the people of Borno where he also declared the lifting of the 24-hour curfew imposed on the state.
