The Council Chairman of Munya Local Government Area of Niger State, Aminu Najumei, has revealed that the council secretary, Daina Usman, who was abducted on Thursday night, managed to escape from his abductors on Friday. Najumei, while reacting to the news of Usman’s abduction, said he escaped when the bandits were searching for a place to hide them. The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has revealed that none of the 31 requests for state creation met the constitutional requirements. The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission on Friday said former Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Jibrin Usman (retd.), and Brigadier-General Ishaya Bauka (retd.) remain on its wanted list over their alleged involvement in a N3 billion fraud. The United States deported 135 migrants of various nationalities, including 65 minors, to Costa Rica on Thursday, according to the Costa Rican government. Their flight departed from San Diego, California, and arrived at a base next to Juan Santamaria International Airport, an AFP journalist confirmed.
