The Court of Appeal has dismissed the ex parte order given by the Rivers State High Court, in Port Harcourt, on May 10, 2024 stopping Martin Amaewhule from parading himself as Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly. The Benue State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of 18 suspects in connection with the violent protest that erupted Wednesday in Sankera, Ukum Local Government Area, LGA, of the state over armed bandits attacks in the area. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano has proposed a mandatory drug test for prospective couples as part of measures to reduce drug abuse in the state.
