Kylian Mbappe sustained a broken nose during France’s 1-0 victory against Austria on Monday. The injury occurred during the Group D match at Düsseldorf Arena when Mbappé collided with Austria’s Kevin Danso. The Lagos State government, yesterday, explained that the strain of cholera in Lagos is highly aggressive and contagious. Recall that Lagos has recorded 17 confirmed cases of cholera and 15 fatalities so far. It also said laboratory investigation has confirmed the strain to be cholera sub-type O-1, adding that the subtype is associated with more severe diseases. The Commissioner for Health, Professor Akin Abayomi, in a post on X, said the identified strain is “highly aggressive and contagious, with potential for widespread dissemination.” Abayomi said through community-based case finding and contact tracing, the government observed that the number of cases…

Governor Abba Yusuf has explained why he ordered arrest of deposed emir of Kano, Aminu Bayero, for which the court awarded N10 million damages to the monarch. Speaking through his spokesman, Sunusi Bature, the Governor said he called for Bayero‘s arrest because he (Bayero) returned into two days after his dethronement to reclaim the palace, creating unrest in the state. About 3,000 pilgrims were yesterday affected by heat strokes and exhaustion during their journeys to and from the Jamarat for the stoning rite. Finidi George has revealed the reason behind his decision to quit his role as head coach of the Super Eagles. Finidi submitted his resignation letter to the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, on Saturday.
