Two charred remains of unidentified persons have been recovered following an explosion on Tuesday night that triggered an inferno on Otedola Bridge, Lagos. The federal government has debunked reports claiming that local refineries have been forced to rely on international crude purchases over the discontinuation of the naira-based crude oil supply arrangements. A former Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Chief Dubem Onyia, has died. He was aged 73. A report by Law and Society Magazine said that he died yesterday [Sunday] in London. Onyia, who was elected member of the House of Representatives in 1999, later resigned to serve as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs from 1999 to 2003.
