Organised Labour has rejected claims by state governors under the aegis of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum, NGF, that they cannot afford N60,000 minimum wage, urging the governors not to plunge the country into a monumental crisis. Popular crossdresser James Brown has visited his mentor Bobrisky at Kirikiri maximum security prison where the latter is serving time for defacing the Naira. Despite ongoing efforts to secure Bobrisky’s release, James Brown took it upon himself to check on his mentor’s well-being. The visit comes as a show of solidarity and support for his mentor, who has been incarcerated for several weeks. Data from the International Monetary Fund has shown Nigeria’s economy is expected to rise to at least $1.852 trillion in Purchasing Power Parity terms by 2029. The IMF’s prediction shows a noteworthy growth path for the country’s economy over the next five years. The country’s GDP in PPP terms has been on the increase, projected to rise from $1.36 trillion in 2023 to $1.852 trillion in 2029. The Osun state governor, Ademola Adeleke, has paid N12.7billion as bonds for retirees within 18 months of his administration to surpass the total amount of N11b paid in 12 years by All Progressives Congress (APC).
