The Federal Government has repatriated a total of 190 Nigerians from the United Arab Emirates. According to a statement released by the National Emergency Management Agency signed by its Director General, Director, North Central Zone, Bashir Garga, on Tuesday, the returnees arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja at 5:57 AM on Tuesday and were received by combined team of government officials led by NEMA. Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, said yesterday the Federal Government has been steadfast in its mission to transform the country’s power sector. He gave this assurance at the 9th edition of Nigeria Energy Forum, NEF 2024, conference in Lagos, with the theme “Energizing Sustainable Industrialisation”. The World Bank in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Education on Monday expressed readiness to spend 10 million dollars for Nigerian youths to acquire the critical skills needed for employment. The Federal High Court sitting in Benin City, Edo State capital on Monday dismissed a lawsuit filed by Kenneth Imansuagbon challenging the candidature of the Labour Party (LP), governorship candidate, Bar Olumide Akpata for the Edo State governorship race. The court ruled that it lacked jurisdiction to entertain the suit, adding that the suit lacked merit and was based on speculation. The Edo State Governor, Godwin Obaseki, has sacked the state Commissioner for Health, Dr. Samuel Alli, with immediate effect. According to a statement on Monday by the Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, the governor directed Alli to hand over all government documents and resources in his possession to the most senior civil servant within the ministry.
