Three senators, Adamu Aliero (Kebbi Central), Yahaya Abdullahi (Kebbi North), and Garba Maidoki (Kebbi South), have defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC). In separate letters addressed to the Senate and read during Tuesday’s plenary by the Deputy Senate President, Barau Jibrin, who presided over the session, the defectors cited leadership crisis within the PDP for their action. Dangote Petroleum Refinery has cut the gantry price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), generally known as petrol, to N825 per litre from N835 per litre as competition in the domestic market persists. Last month, the 650,000 barrels per day refinery reduced the gantry price of petrol to N835 per litre from N865 per litre.
