Cameroon’s long-serving President, Paul Biya, has been re-elected for another seven-year term at the age of 92, extending his more than four-decade rule. The country’s Constitutional Council on Monday officially declared Biya the winner of the October 12 presidential election, securing 53.66% of the votes. The Police Force Headquarters in Abuja have given reasons as to why it arrested former presidential candidate, activist and publisher of Sahara Reporters, Omoyele Sowore. The police also said it has concluded arrangements to arraign Sowore within the next 24 hours.
