The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has expressed strong reservations over a planned protest by the “Take It Back Movement,” scheduled to take place across various states, including the Federal Capital Territory, on Monday. A former Governor of Oyo State, Chief Omololu Olunloyo, has passed on at the age of 89 years. Olunloyo, who governed the state for just three months died few day to his 90th birthday. He was the father of popular blogger, Kemi Olunloyo. The nonagenarian, who was also Balogun of Oyo and Otun Bobasewa of Ife, died in the early hours of Sunday. Olunloyo’s death was confirmed in a statement signed by Barrister Oladapo Ogunwusi. The family of the late elderstatesman, Chief Edwin Clark, has scheduled May 13, 2025, for his burial in Kiagbodo Community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta. Clark, a former Federal Commissioner for Information, and also a former senator during the Second Republic, was born on May 25, 1927. He died on February 17, at the age of 97. Clark’s eldest son, Mr Penaowei, announced the burial date on Saturday at a press briefing held at the family residence in Kiagbodo. Members of the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Speaker Martins Amaewhule are currently in the United Kingdom (UK) on legislative tour. Since they were suspended with Governor Siminialayi Fubara, nothing had been heard about the lawmakers, who were on the verge of removing Fubara before President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared a State of Emergency. Oba Abimbola Owoade has been crowned the 46th Alaafin of Oyo. Owoade who received the staff of office from Oyo state governor, Seyi Makinde, succeeds the 45th Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, who died on April 22, 2022, at 83. A Federal High Court in Abuja has barred parties in the suit filed by suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan against the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and three others from granting press interviews on issues relating to the case. A former Director-General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Brig.-Gen. Maharazu Tsiga (Rtd) yesterday shared a chilling experience he had while in kidnappers den.
