A fully loaded high-capacity Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) vehicle overturned inside the dedicated BRT lane at Iyana Ipaja, Lagos, resulting in injuries to 10 passengers. According to an update from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the accident occurred shortly after the bus had departed from the BRT park at Iyana Ipaja. The Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Agency has confirmed the death of four persons during an accident in Abeokuta, Ogun State. A statement issued by the public relations officer of the government-owned agency, Babatunde Akinbiyi in Abeokuta, said the sad incident occurred when a truck rammed into the motorcycles and their passengers. As part of efforts to decongest correctional facilities in the state, the Chief Judge of Akwa Ibom State, Justice Ekaete Obot, has ordered the release of 44 inmates, including two females, across the correctional facilities in the three senatorial districts of the state.
